Goldsmiths’ main campus lies in New Cross, a riverside borough in Southeast London, just 15 minutes by train from Central London. Around New Cross itself you’ll find an eclectic mix of coffee shops, pubs and places to eat. The area is a hub of creative talent and has a thriving music scene. Goldsmiths combines excellence in teaching and research with a distinctly innovative and creative approach to a wide range of subjects: psychologists work with computer scientists, artists with cultural theorists, musicians with anthropologists.

Program Info

Goldsmiths encourages imagination and innovation, offering a wide variety of courses in the humanities, social sciences, performing and creative arts. Rather than passively absorbing ‘information’, at Goldsmiths you will be supported in critically interpreting and reflecting on different types of materials and data (texts, artifacts etc) so that you can become, in your own right, an independent, critical creator of new, exciting knowledge, ideas and professional practices. Teaching at Goldsmiths builds on and is connected to the exciting research that takes place there. This means that, during your studies, you will be exposed to cutting-edge and exciting ideas and concepts, and will be encouraged to learn in a research-mode, acquiring the ability to pose questions as well as seek answers.

As a visiting student, you can choose as wide or narrow a combination of regular Goldsmiths subjects as you want.

    • Prefered application deadlines are: October 15th for Spring semester and April 15th for Fall semester. Call for availability after these dates.
    • At the time of application a student should normally have attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.  Students should hold Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior or Senior class standing at the time of application.
    • Most courses are pre-registered and the opportunity for course change upon arrival is limited.
    • Interstudy students can combine courses offered in different departments and faculties as scheduling allows.
    • Goldsmiths has a very strong link with the community and offers high quality adult education courses known as Professional And Community Education courses (PACE). No more than two PACE courses (those with the prefix “CU”) may be taken in a semester. PACE courses are held on evenings and weekends.
    • Communications courses are regularly over-subscribed. Early application is recommended.
    • Standard full-time credit load: 14-16 U.S. semester-hour credits. The total number of courses will vary depending on the credit weighting of each course.
